Bump ... I'm stuck.Some urgent help needed, X1950PRO AGP.
Does the computer turn at all? Do you hear any beeps?
Everything turns on, all the lights come on, the fans run, etc. No video on the monitor at all though.
What are the ''two lower white slots'' you talked about?
DVI-H slots I believe. The manual says that's where I plug the monitor into (there's an adapter for it). It has two slots for dual monitors.
Hmm, what motherboard do you have?
Neither the RAM nor the video card seem to be working ... dunno what the problem could be.http://www.amptrondealer.com/App/productdetail.asp?did=5There's my motherboard, all my new hardware should be compatible with that...
What is the wattage on your PSU? I've seen people underpower GPUs and have their entire computer not work because of it.
Max 350W, 12V
w00t, got the RAM working!b00, my PSU isn't enough for the x1950 :(
Do a RMA and get a new card to see if the first X1950 was faulty.
If you need a PSU that can run a X1950PRO, I'd get a Xcilo Stablepower 460W. It's got plenty of power and will run that card with ease.
kodex, would that work with my mobo?
The PSU? It'll work with any motherboard.
Circuit City has some ''Ultra-V'' PSU's ... higher wattage, and cheaper. Can they be trusted though?
newegg.com =)
Ya they can be trusted I have a Ultra Xfinity 600 watt which can power everything under the sun ;). Those Ultra V's are good but I would aim for the 500 watt ones. Plus how much doCircuit Citywant them for?
You don't really need a lot of Watts, it's Amps you need. Can you link the Ultra V?EDIT: If this is it, I wouldn't get it. It's got some bad reviews (a guy went through 4 of them) and it has no mention of a PFC of any kind. That's the thing that keeps a stable voltage flowing to all your componants.
I think the guy had a bad case of luck or was doing something wrong. But if you can get the xfinity psu from ultra, its more future proof and they are built good. The heat sinks inside are made of copper instaed of aluminium(copper is better at releasing heat). Mine was like 3x the weight than my old 550 watt psu. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Customer-reviews-for-ULtra-X-Finity-500-Watt-ATX-Power-Supply-ULT31844/sem/rpsm/oid/159269/rpem/ccd/productDetailReview.do#tabs
