Laptop with Vista question

I am planning on buying this laptop. http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_1501?c=us%26cs=19%26l=en%26s=dhsBut the problem is it only has 1 GB of ram and was wandering if vista will be too slow?I am not buying the laptop for games, I just want to run simple programs like xfire and guitar pro.Also is there a way to transfer files from your computers hard drive to your laptops hard drive?Thanks for the help.Laptop with Vista question

You could use a crossover cable to transfer your files from your desktop PC to the laptop.
