I have a Nvidia XFX 7600GT video card and just wandering how I could overclock itHow do you overclock
ATiTool is your friend. And yes,it works with NVIDIA cards perfectly. How do you overclock
Well this is my first time ive never overclocked before and I dont want to ruin my computer. So how do I know if im going to ruin my computer or not. Im scared
Just go slow and be gentle, up it a few mhz and run a benchmark or a game, when your temps become unreasonable, or you see rendering problems back it off a few notches. You can also search and see how far on average people have overclocked your card and get an idea of what to aim for.
Where do you search up your card and see what people have done with it?
And what does overclocking do? Im guessing it makes your graphics better?
Ok I just downloaded the ATiTool and do I find the max core or search for artifacts? what are artifacts? show the 3D view scan max memory. Sorry I just want to make sure I dont mess anything up
[QUOTE=''-sharp-shooter-'']And what does overclocking do? It makes your regular components faster with a little tweaking and patience. I'll try to find you some stats for your card, just give me a couple minutes.
ok thanks I appreciate your help
Here are some benchmarks and some overclocking info for your card. From what I've seen the 7600GT, will safely over clock to around 607MHz for the core (8%), and up to around 1600MHz for the memory (14%). Artifacts are rendering errors due to hardware faults (i know it sounds really bad, don't worry, just back it down). I haven't had any experience with the ati tool but i have used the one that comes with the nvidia drivers, i can help you use those.
My core was 664 MHz and my memory was 803 MHz. I dont feel enough confidence to do this so im going to give up. I feel like I dont know what im doign and im just going to break something. Thanks for your help though.
