My computer is this:CPU: AMD am2 3500+ 2.2ghz (singe core)2gb ram 667GPU: 7300gt 256 ddr2mobo: a33g pcchips (lol... but it really does the work)1 IDE 100gb 1SATA 160gb ____________________________________My budeget to upgrade is 400 dollarsSo, I was thinking about getting AMD 6000+ and the 7950 512 ddr3. But today a friend told me I should get the Q6600 intel, and a new mobo, and keep my GPU. So I don't know... will it have the same performance? What would be better for gaming? Keep in mind my 400 dollars budget. I don't live in US, but my father is going so I need to hurry with this choice, because hardware here is twice the price that US price.I've been thinking that AMD will release QuadCores this year, so maybe next year I can buy one and stay with AMD, and make this jump until next year. Will this play games comming out?How to upgrade?
Despite that board you have a decent upgrade path. Your friend is completely incorrect your performance at higher resolutions would be unchanged. (Though a quad core would be nice) I would stick with your mobo uprade to a 6000+ which should set you back $150 or so if I remember correctly. A 8800GTS 320 is another possibility if you want to spend more. What do you have for a PSU?How to upgrade?
500wtts PSU... I think it will be ok... is the x1950XT gddr3 256mb better/same/worst than the 7950 gddr3 512mb? Since I have an nvidia, I thought sticking with them, but I don't mind at all...

Could you provide more specific info about your PSU? I just want to make sure the XT would run properly as it is very power hungry.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171007
Yeah that power supply might have issues running higher end graphics cards. Do you mind ordering from multiple vendors to get a better power supply. You could also downgrade the processor which wouldn't effect performance very much.
To be honest with you. Anyone who is trying to upgrade there rig with $400 is just crazy. Unless you already have a decent rig and you want to buy a new CPU or GPU. Just save up to atleast $600. With $600 you can get a new mobo processor and a pretty decent GPu.

I would just get a $65 X2 3800+ (duel core - you might not need two cores though if you don't multi-task. I would then get a $110 8600GT. It would be a cheap upgrade that would leave you with $200 to start saving up for a new rig. You might be so happy with the upgrade that you wouldn't want to get a new rig anytime soon.cpu - X2 3800+ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103735)vga - 8600GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127293)
