I haven't a clue what half that stuff means :P
Rest of computer sepcs in sig, i think i might get a dual core amd 4200+ tho. Not a massive upgrade but cheaper than going core 2 duo. (New mobo, new RAM, new cpu etc.)

EDIT: well when i posted it, it didn't look as mashed up as that, here is a link to where i got the specs from

of course, a 500 W would be able to do it I think so a 580W should no problem.Hiper Type R 580W enough for 8800GTX?
i think you should upgrade your PC becausse your goign to waste that card because your have a single core AMD,i hate to use the word ''bottleneck'' but i think in this instance it would be correct to say you cpu will bottleneck that card. btw yea it should be alrite depending on other hard ware (e.g. how many HDD's you have and what monitor you have)
I know it will bottleneck but i was looking at am article explaining what cpu you need to be good with an 8800 card and all of them got basically the same fps at low resolutions. I have 3 HDD's and a 17'' monitor @ 1280x1024 but i'm going to be gaming on a HDTV which is only 1366x768. I was thinking of going core 2 duo but it's just too expensive, i'd have to get a new mobo, ram and cpu, so i thought i'd just get a dual core 4200+ for ?0, better than the ?30 or so i would spend going core 2 duo.

Can anybody else help?
It's plenty of power. You'll be fine.
It is a terrible PSU but should be fine running your rig.
