vista and VRAM or Ram

does Vista use the graphic cards memory or ram?......because im trying to play the new games with dx10 and im wondering if i had vista 64 bit at 4 gigs of ram would it run good for the games?vista and VRAM or Ram
Vista will use a chunk of the vram especially if you are running areo, as well as a part of the system RAM. Its usually reccomended for the smoothest performance on vista you use 2GB of RAM, but you can get by with 1GB as a minimum.I know you have heard the old rant that More Ram=Faster Computer, well its true, to the point that performance levels out at about 2GB right now, having 4Gb is redundant and will not make a substantial difference like the jump from 1GB to 2GB will. RAM is not the end all source of speed, its smarter to buy a better graphics card, or faster processor for vista than spend the money on 4GB of RAM (the same holds true for games.) vista and VRAM or Ram
Vista uses the video ram like XP. In theory, directx 10 allows applications to use the main memory as extra video memory but nothing uses it that way.
