CPU Fans

Alright, I love my pc, but I hate the noise it makes, its so loud. I'm pretty the noise is coming from the fan over the motherboard. Is there any way I can replace this fan with a more quiet one? Also, my friend designed my pc, I have very little background into placing/removing parts besides raam lol.CPU Fans
If noise is an issue for you you should probably look into different insulation that can be applied to the case or even maybe a diff case alltogether that is better insulated against noise. Remember to a quieter fan probably wont do as good of a job cooling the cpu. An extreme solution would be to water cool the cpu.CPU Fans
Sure, you simply take off the old one and put on the new one. Although there could be a crowbar involved. I recommend replacing it with any Zalman branded heatsink.[QUOTE=''QuattroRS6'']If noise is an issue for you you should probably look into different insulation that can be applied to the case or even maybe a diff case alltogether that is better insulated against noise. The noise a fan creates depends on the angle, placement, and RPM of the fan blades. The are plenty of heatsink/fan combos that do a good job of cooling while keeping relatively quiet.
That didnt quite come out how i meant it. Really the question is ''How'' quiet you want your system. I just kinda assumed for the OP that he wanted it very quiet and ''generally'' very quiet air cooling isnt super effective. You could always get a cpu fan with a rpm control to adjust it depending on what you are doing. I had a coolermaster cpu fan like that it was great quiet when iwanted it quiet and could crank it up for long gaming sessions to keep it cool. Right now i use a zalman cnp9700 works great isnt to loud but thats me noise doesnt bother me at all.
