why are amd cpu's sp cheap? is intel leading the whole thing at the moment? what makes the intel cpu's so good?why are amd cpu's sp cheap? is intel leading the whole thing at the moment?
there amazing at overclocking you can buy a cpu for around $100 and overclock it to 3ghz easy most of time making it as good as a $200+ processor at stock speedswhy are amd cpu's sp cheap? is intel leading the whole thing at the moment?
AMD's are cheaper than Intel cause of competition,a $61.50 X2 3600 is s sweet deal for me,i can OC this to 3GHz on a BIOSTAR TF560 A2+ and i'll have the next best AMD on the market.
I'd say AMDs are a better choice (from a price/performance perspective) if you don't plan to overclock. The Intels overclock pretty well from what I hear, but they're also more expensive. But if you overclock, then Intels end up being cheaper for their perforance.
AMD has also lost the performance war, so they dropped their prices to grab the ''performance for the price'' war. Although, this does not matter if you plan on OCing because intel OCs better. However, AMD can OC pretty good, but ALL of the AMD's are pretty much capped at just over 3GHz. That means you can OC a cheap AMD to get the performance of the 5600+.AMD - cheaper for the performanceIntel - More expensive for the performanceAMD (OC) - Cheaply get close to the fastest AMD cpu speeds possible (about 3GHz)Intel (OC) - Not so much more performance for the $, but more performance than AMD could possibly have. To sum it up: AMD has had to lower their prices so that they can get the cheaper market because intel owns the high-end market.
