The mystery of the PC that keeps getting faster...

Hi! I'v got a strange problem with my pc...for some reason if my PC is turned on for a few hours and I don't play any games on it (just surf the net etc), when i start up a game (any game) it will play in fast forward! like if i play unreal tournament 2004, I'll run super fast and any spinning weapons/items will be spinning fast too...If the problem was my PC slowing down, then it could be a heating problem etc, but I'v never come across a pc that gets faster :lol:1 thing to note is if I turn the pc on and then start playing games,I can play them at normal speed all day... it just seems to be if i don't play any games for a hour or so, then try and play 1. (if the PC is playing games super fast and i exit the game, the pc runs everything normal speeds, but soon as i start up a game again, its super fast again) :shock:so if anyone has had a similar problem and knows how to sort it out, i'd be greatful :D if not then I suppose it doesnt matter too much lol, I'll just have to reset my PC before playing games if it's been running for a hour or so ^^The mystery of the PC that keeps getting faster...
i dont know how to help you but something similar happened to me. i intalled a crappy sonic games on my new computer that was made for windows 98 and when i played it windowed it would play super fast. the time in the top corner was going really fast and you could still play but it was really challenging. if i played it fullscreen it would be at normal speed.The mystery of the PC that keeps getting faster...
that is the funniest thing i've ever heard, my computer has been acting up but not like that.and to bazooka, is that FEAR in your sig? i've never played the game, but maybe I should.

Same thing happend to me in Oblivion, only with my weapons. I attacked super fast, i could go through a dozen guards like a weed whacker.
sounds like scpt on py pc, it runs twice the speed it should, the slowest walk is like a fast walk, not a creap

[/QUOTE]Speaking of CPUs, I think the super fast game playing started around the time I upgraded my CPU and Mobo :lol:Oh well, if its playing the games I'v got atm super fast, maybe when the games like crysis come out it'll play them normal speed on max settings instead of like a slide show :lol:
i know on my computer when playing rainbow six vegas the game would run super slow if i clocked my processor down really far or super fast if i clocked it up. but it didnt effect fps by that much just game time. actually made the game super easy. just running it at like 80% speed/
i had a simplar problem but i cant remember how i fixed it.
