Quick Q on CPU and RAM frequencies

I have a quick, maybe even stupid question, but i would greatly appreciate any help. I have an E6400, and the FSB is at 333MHz. I also have 2 gigs of DDR2 RAM that can go up to 800Mhz. So my question is, would i expierence better performance (while gaming)if i set the RAM to 667 MHz (equal to the FSB) or to 800 MHz (the maximum).Thank you in advance for any help.Quick Q on CPU and RAM frequencies
thats a good question, since it can make a difference. You got one thing wrong though, with intel procs to get the FSB speed you multiply the 333 by 4, not 2, so your FSB actually runs at 1066 mhz. So ideally you overclock the ram to 1066mhz, but 800 should be just fine.Quick Q on CPU and RAM frequencies
O wow. Thank you for the info :)ill have to remember that in the future :P
The quad pump is right but the first D in DDR stands for double. So 533 runs at a 1:1 ratio with that CPU, 1066 ram would be a 1:2 FSB : DRAM ratio (at stock speeds). 533 x 2 = 1066 266 x 4 = 1066With the overclock you have 667 would give you a 1:1 ratio. I would try that and 800 and see what gives you the best performance. I run my ram at a 1:1 ratio ( 1424 FSB 712 DRAM ).
