Buying new parts, I need to know a few things.

So I've been looking at parts recently and I've decided that it's about time to buy a new machine...
My current PC is pretty bad and for those of you that care this is what I'm running:

AMD Athlon 64, 2200 MHz (11 x 200) 3500+
Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939
1024MB (2x512MB) Kingston DDR SDRAM
Maxtor 6L250R0 (L59558LG) 250GB
MSI GeForce 6600

I've began to realize that this machine is a piece of garbage, And plus the video card is beginning to not work properly so I'm buying new parts, Here is what I have planned out so far

Biostar TForce TF570 SLI NVIDIA Socket AM2 ATX Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.0GHz
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB 7200RPM Serial-ATA.
OCZ Platinum Revision-2 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 x 1024MB)
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS Superclocked 320MB GDDR3

Pretty mean machine eh?

There's just a few things I need to know,
1) I recently bought a Cool Master 600w power supply which has 18 amps on both of the +12v rails, I need to know if this will be fine for the 8800
2) Would now be a good time to buy new parts? I've heard that the new amd phenom processors may be compatible with the current AM2 chipset so I'm hoping that I won't have to replace my mobo again once they come out.
3) I'm planning on running my games at no higher then 1280x1024 with all or most settings on high, Would the 320MB version of the 8800gts be fine?

I'm asking because I want this to last, I don't have much cash so this may probably be the last time I upgrade for a very long time.

Thanks

As for the PSU, if you don't SLI, that'll do fine. If you can afford it, you might think about Intel E6600 or Q6600. Memory could be 1066Mhz, but that's only if you have money left over. If there is SATA2 version of that HD, you should aim for that. And lastly, I've heard some bad things about Super clocked Evga 8800GTS', someone wanna confirm this.Buying new parts, I need to know a few things.

Glad to know that the PSU is fine, I would get an intel processor but I only have a $1000 - $1200 budget, the 6000+ is nice and cheap ($179.99 CAD) so yeah.
If there are any bad things about the evga 8800gts then yeah someone please comfirm this, a futureshop is having a sale in my area tomorrow, they'll be selling the 8800gts for $269,99 CAD, Too good of a deal to pass up in my opinion.
The Superclocked 8800GTS 320MB is more than adequate for that resolution. Everything else looks good.
I've just spent 1200 euros on my comp, which is roughly equivalent to 1200$. Specs are as follow:Q6600
DFI infinity mobo
Processor cooler
2Gb GSkill DDR2 1066Mhz CL4
600W PSU
Hush case
DVD/CD-RW Combo drive
WD 300Gb SATA2 7200rpm 16MB HD
Leadtek 8800GTS 320MBSo far I haven't got any stutter in any game maxed with 1024x768 resolution.
Neither the Canidian nor American dollar is roughly equivilant to the Euro. 1EUR = ~1.3USD/~1.4CAD

Oh, I should mention the list price was a little more than 1200 euros. But i just walked into my local comp store, told them what I wanted and how much money I had, thenlet them choose parts I wasn't sure about (cooler, case, PSU) and after short negotiations about the price I was on my way home to build my new baby...
