8800 GTS Series video card question

I'm trying to decide between either the less expensive 8800 GTS with 320MB or the more expensive 8800 GTS with 640MB. While I'd love to get a GTX, I just don't have the money for it. I was wondering if there is a huge difference between the 320MB and the 640MB versions (performance and graphics wise). I even found a thread where someone posted a link showing the 320MB receiving higher benchmark scores than the 640MB. The other specs on my computer (if they help) consist of a quad-core Q6600, 3GB RAM, 300GB HD, and a 19'' HP Wide-screen monitor. Also, I know I would have to upgrade my power supply. Currently my system only has a 300w PSU. Any recommendations for a good PSU? Just a little more help, I'm currently playing F.E.A.R., CoH, Titan Quest, GTA: San Andreas, and I plan on getting BioShock, Oblivion: GOTY Edition, and Half Life 2: Orange Box. So, after all of my ranting, which video card is better and would last longer before needing an upgrade? Any help is much appreciated.8800 GTS Series video card question
320MB 8800GTS,its perfect for that resolution.8800 GTS Series video card question
320MB 8800GTS,its perfect for that resolution.
...He didn't even post a resolution. Anyway, I would go for the 640 MB version if you are looking for which one lasts longer, but the 640 MB costs almost $100 more. Considering the price, my final choice would be the 320 MB version because your max resolution shouldn't pose any problems for the 320 MB for a long time.

So for the resolution of my screen, which you are correct about, the 320MB would be the best choice?

well i would go with the 8800gts or if you dont mind going up the extra 100$ go for the hd 2900xt... or at least consider it.for a psu i would go witha nice 500Wish PSU.enermax libertyCorsair hx520Ware the ones i had in my shortlist as i wanted a good high efficency modular power supply which woulhave 6pin pcie and 8pin.

Goldmatter, do you mean the 8800GTS with the 320MB?
Yeah, unless you plan on using resolutions higher than 1440x900 I would recommend getting the 8800GTS 320mb version (maybe even a factory-overclocked one) than the other card because you wouldn't need the extra 320mb of vram. I have the same sized monitor and also plan on getting an 8800GTS but with 640mb because I might want to mess around with it on an HDTV I have =p.
