Hey I want to get this mobo:http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=P6N_SLI_Platinum%26class=mbApparently you need a Power supply with 24 pins but my Antec PSU only has 20.I saw on a site that you could buy an APTATEUR ATX 20 to 24 PINS but if its so easy whats the point of having 24 pins on the mobo. There must be a reason for it, more power or something?thanx Buying a new mobo but not compatible with my PSU....
You can connect the 20pin conector from PSU to 24pin on the mobo, it will work anywayBuying a new mobo but not compatible with my PSU....
The reason for 24 pins in the first place is only to make it safer on higher power levels.
Similar to divided 12V rail.
Many new PSUs have a 12V1 rail and a 12V2 rail.
The only real difference is that it is safer. Thus many converters exists.
