fatality cards? (7600s)

so id prefer to keep my costs low (definately no more than 200) on a new cardand after talking to some other peopel im thinking of a 7600 cardi have a few questions. first, how are the fatality edition cards? ([url=http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=%26page=file%26memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php%26DisplayProductID=9780%26SID=222642]example[/url] and yes i will be buying from memory express) is the cooling pipes just a gimmick or does it actually work?second, i narrowed it down to a couple cards:- xfx 7600 gt fatality (256mb and 650mhz core)- xfx 7600 gt xxx edition (256 and 590) - only if the fatality name is a ripoff- evga 7600 gs (512 and 400) - only if i really should have a higher memory countnow ive heard people say dollar for dollar the 7 series are still better cards, which is what im mostly after (bang for buck) but if you guys honestly reccomend an 8 series, then i would go with this one- evga 8600 gts (256 and 675 core)so, oh wise ones, what video card would you so suggest?fatality cards? alright another thing, teh computer it will be in is an older custom made pc,not sure of teh mobo but its a socket A with an athalon xp proci will within the next few months be upgrading to a core 2 duo, new mobo ram and everything, but will this card run on my current system for now? im not sure about req's for video cards
the diference is in the shader operations that make the 8600 better the 7600 gt has 6720 Operations/secwhile the 8600 gt has 37760 Operations/secheres a nice site to compare!http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=512%26card2=385i lied about costing less, they cost a bit more =)

But if you arent going to be buying another card for a couple of years then an 8600gt/gts would may be a slightly better investment.EDIT: Disregard this as it wont work with ur socket A mobo, ill leave this up for anyone else after a new video card tho.

i doubt it will run in your old system. it probably has an agp slot and not a pci-e one seeing as its socket a

oops disregard my last post. Try and find out what motherboard you have as i used to have a socket A mobo and it was AGP 2x/4x
ya its an agpgreat looks like im gona have to go buy my full system a little earlier on than plannedso neways, in adittion to the 86gts, i will be getting a core 2 duo e6550 (2.33ghz), gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l mobo, and ocz vista upgrade edition 2gb (2x1gb) ram pack, it is $5 more than teh cheapest 2gb pack, but it has a $30 mailin rebate
If it's AGP I'd still recommend grapping an X1950 PRO.
