First Time Build and Processer and Sound Question?

OK, I need an upgrade and so I'm looking to build my first computer. Heres my list of parts:Case: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811146025Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813188017Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814130082Power-Supply: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817182062Memory: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820144047Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16822148140DVD Drive:http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16827151133OS: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16832116056And I don't know which Processor I should get...This Intel: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819115030 and overclock to around 3.GHz...or this AMD: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819103773 and go as is...And how would the Intel handle overclocking? How does overclocking help/decline performance? Is there something else I'd be better off with? With all this stuff will my computer stay cool? And do I NEED a sound card? When I see people list their builds, it seems like alot of them don't have a sound card...does it not keep you from hearing? And what would be the difference. If I do need one I have one in mind, but I don't know much about sound cards, so if ya'll have any suggestions.I want to know if all of these parts are compatible, and if you have any suggestions for better parts, as long as its around the same price, or any other helpful information or suggestions, as well as answering my many questions.Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks alot in advance!First Time Build and Processer and Sound Question?
E6550 %26 overclock it %26 you willl need a after market cooler %26 that onboard sound is pretty good. No need a new cardRest is goodIf you can buy XP with SP2 not SP1First Time Build and Processer and Sound Question?
Well your motherboard is an intel socket so you should probably stick with them for a processor. You can't really go wrong with intel processors at the moment, they all have good performance and overclock well. Most motherboards include onboard audio. It won't be quite as good but it should suffice for basic gaming and music listening.

meh i wouldnt buy a rosewill PSU but w/e. For the motherboard I would get the evga 680i T1/A1 if you have the money for it. and of course Intel for overclocking imo.

OK Thanks...Anyone else??
BUMP...Ok so I don't need a sound card right yet. If anyone has any suggestions for a better Motherboard. Also, I was looking around, for that greese/paste type stuff that will attch the fan to the CPU, will the standard stuff that comes with it be ok if I plan on Overclocking???

And as regards thermal paste you should be fine with the stuff they give you (only uber overclockers need expensive stuff!)
So from 2.33 to 3.0 or 3.2 it will be fine?
