how do i downgrade directx?

i have directx10 but i want directx9 because i have a few games that dont work and im thinking dx10 could be the problem. how do i downgrade or uninstall it?thankshow do i downgrade directx?
I doubt it's direct X 10, can you elaborate on the problems you are having, it might be something else?how do i downgrade directx?
what game doesnt work and what kind of video card do you have?

i have vista and im running a 8800gts. everytime i run cs:S it crashes tried alot of things like reformatting, tried different drivers, tried all settings on cs:s and probably some other stuff i cnat remember on the top of my head right now. my main culprit would probably be VISTA but im just trying to try different stuff to see if it works or not
Well technically Direct X 10 isn't backwards compatable, so the 10 and 9 APIs can be run side by side.And you can't downgrade or uninstall Direct X 10.What error message (if any) do you get when it crashes?)

(I'm pretty sure you meant Counter Strike Source)
i dont get any errors messages or anything cs:s just stops responding and i have to task manager exit itwhen i try to join a server, it would freeze at the ''retrieving serveer info'' part, thats when i have to end it
yeah, cs:s = counterstrike source :P
no idea i dont have HL2 i only have half life and that works

Do you have another other source games? (source engine based)

btw, can someone link me to 8800gts drivers? not those beta ones, i want a real one. does it exist?
