DDR2 800 is fine. It'll likely be a few years before you really need DDR3.Memory for new PC
That is what I figured, really. I still plan on building my own PC, but for comparison I've been to some PC sites and built a few 'gaming' PCs (Dell XPS, Alienware, ABS, Voodoo, Falcon) and the DDR2 800mhz seemed to be the top option. What is the purpose of the 'Latency' when looking at memory? Is that something that only overclockers need to pay attention to?Honestly, memory is really the only thing I'm having trouble with when shopping for the different parts. I've had the same 2 gig of memory in my desktop since December of 2002, so I haven't had to shop for memory in almost 5 years. Plus, it's RDRAM - and I know enough about memory to know that RDRAM and DDR2 are completely different.Again, thanks for any help.

You just need expensive RAM for when you oveerclock, thats all!
