partitioning ur hard drive

i have 500gb hd what would be best way divide in to 500gb hd ?i was thinking something like this30GB - window os,other programs30GB - games220GB - music,video,other file220GB - Moviesdo you guys used partition like that for organizing the datas?partitioning ur hard drive
I do:C: WindowsD: ApsE: MusicF: GamesG: Swap File (Another drive though)partitioning ur hard drive
I keep my HD in one big partition and seperate everything into respective folders.
I have 40gb for windows c: 360gb for document, musive video etc on my 400gb drive and then my 250gb drive for games30gb wont cut it for more than 4 or5 new games
Why that many partitions? There is no benefit and more partitions slow down the entire system and small partitions like that are going to restrict you later on when your disk fills up. Just create one partition for the OS and programs (make it large enough- at least 100 GB - recent games take more than 4 GB so you won't fit a lot on just 30 GB) and one for static data (movies, docs, music). That way you can reformat the OS partition without losing your data or install a second OS.
I have 40GB to Vista200GB to Games, softwares, movies.....45GB to my DAD
